The problem with astroids is the collateral damage. To extinct all the current dinosaurs might cause an 'astroidal winter' that could affect America for a generation or more. Of course, it would offset global warming, so maybe, on the whole, it's not a bad idea.

The current dinosaurs will do all they can to insulate themselves from the effects of the impact, but when they bring it on themselves, well, it's hard to avoid.
